Say I develop a game for mobile platform running OpenGL ES 2.0. I have done 2D part, and now I wish to import some 3D objects.
The imported 3D objects must contain the following:
I am aware, that I could and (maybe should) create my own file format that brings these data from 3D authoring application (3ds Max, Maya, Softimage) into the game.
However, doing so from scratch is going to be really be a lot of work. Therefore, is there any available solution/middleware, that will let me import 3d meshes into my game, ready to use?

Currently, I'm developing under Windows 7, Visual Studio 2010, and OpenGL ES 2.0 emulator.

After careful consideration to use middleware, I have decided on creating my own 3d file format format to export meshes from 3D authoring application (Softimage) into my game. I will need to export the following: Vertices Indices Normals UVs Material Information Animation information (no clue, how to import it) Collision mesh Game Properties defined within 3D authoring tool (object... of wasting it on incorrect approaches. I use Softimage as my 3D authoring tool. Target platform is OpenGL ES 2.0 running on mobile devices (iOS, Android). Programming language: C++.
Are you aware of a complete (or almost complete) cross platform math library for use in OpenGL ES 2.0 games? The library should contain: Matrix2x2, Matrix 3x3, Matrix4x4 classes Quaternions Vector2, Vector3, Vector4 Classes Euler Angle Class Operations amongh the above mentioned classes, conversions, etc.. Standardly used math operations in 3D graphics (Dot Product, Cross Product, SLERP, etc...) Is there such Math API available either standalone or as a part of any package? Programming Language: Visual C++ but planned to be ported to OS X and Android OS.
controls easy to set up (i'm using SFML and Box2D at the moment) I don't want to re-invent things like buttons, arrows being placed wherever the mouse is located, and more game specific items such as "controls settings" or even being able to drag objects around with the mouse. I'm creating an FPS game. I'm writing my own game engine. So far all the backend stuff is going great. I'd like to support md2 as the native file format for 3D Objects, but I also want to use skeletal meshes. Does anyone know if the md2 file format supports skeletal meshes? something that will be default values in most of the scene objects (I believe the scene won't be built from skinned hierarchy meshes but mostly static and even in some cases the animation is purely... in particular or contains any game attributes, it's just keyframed animation data and some IDs for them and to reference API objects. I use objects such as CFrame to hold pointers to frame data... that make really hard to work with when coding some functions that use them. I was thinking of making ie. I don't get how coord (a UV vec2 in my mind) is equal to the dot product (a scalar value)? Same problem I had before with "g". What do I set the plane to be? In my opengl c++ 3.0 code, I set... replacement for glTexGen with GL_OBJECT_LINEAR. For OpenGL ES 2.0. In Ogl GLSL there is the gl_TextureMatrix that makes this easier, but thats not available on OpenGL ES 2.0 / OpenGL ES Shader Language 1.0 Several sites have mentioned that this should be "easy" to do in a GLSL vert shader. my game working at the moment without interpolation. It does physics updates using fixed step time deltas. The frame display rate is decoupled from this. So, it might be doing 40 Physics updates per... collide with a rock. I'm writing a game engine which is going very fine. However, I'm now posed with handling textures. My Engine is in 2D, for simplicity reasons mostly to get a good idea of how to work with OpenGL.
